    boost problems

car was running fin before i pulled the engine

all that was done was oil pan gasket changed transmission turbo to intercooler piping replaced and intercooler to tb piping replaced i reused dp gasket and turbo outlet gasket

now every time i hit boost car sputters and sometimes back fires my friend said i shot out a flame last time i tried to boost it so now i have to drive it and keep it out off boost

plug gap is set to stock .044

I would set the gap to .028 or so. Checked for vac leaks and all that fun stuff? Did you remove ALL the old gasket material from the TB when you changed gaskets?

i never removed the tb going to my friends work soon to check the plug gap and check for vac leaks

reused the downpipe gasket and the turbo outlet gasket

i did unplug the vaf and the car kept running is that supposed to happen?

i had the same problem one time . it turnd out to be a broken diaphram in the blow off valve.or a problem with your maf sensor.

well the blow off valve is working fine not sure about the vaf i will have to take my spare one with me later

i can rev the hell out of the engine when sitting still and it drives fine when not hitting boost but when i try to hit boost it sputters and wants to backfire it stalled out on me once

Check your intercooler piping for any leaks. I had that happen to me once, what happened is my turbo cold side housing cracked. When ever the engine flexed it opened the crack a little.

i run .030 for a plug gap. i think .044 is too big...

thereal is right unless you have a msd sytem that can put out high voltage to jump a fat spark across.thers now need for such a big gap.you can also blow out the spark under boost if the gap is to big.

indeed, blowing out spark is annoying. i started out at like .038 or .040... which was fine at 10psi, but when i went up to 15 it was blowing out. dropping it to .030 solved the problem, and is still fine at 18psi.

ok so i fixed it changed the gap to .030 and it boosts fine now

my aem wideband is also hooked up and working

11.8 at idle and 14-15 cruising 11-13 under boost

i think what caused the problem was the junk intercooler piping i was using before i was running 10psi with a .044 gap with no problems then i installed the new piping and spark gets blown out

another thing is i broke one of the grounding blocks the ground from the front of the transmission runs to a white plastic thing can i just twist all them wires together crimp something to them and bolt them down
