    what do you guys think

ok i know this link has been shown on this site before but i really didn't get to find out peoples response to this turbo kit on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/91-96...Q5fAccessories
my question is is that even a good kit to invest it, and also how much would a stock bp be looking to put out after thats dropped in there? Is there any other modification i would need to do in order for that to drop in, it says something about the downpipe. Thanks

yeah i know that, they have another kit on ebay labeled for the miata, so i think they just used the same pictures, i can definitely tell that thats for the miata but in this auction they have information stating that this specific kit is for the escort bp and whatnot, i was just wondering how much power do you think this will make

assuming you could fab it up to work, it might make decent poewr....for about 3 minutes before the turbo blows itself to pieces.

I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

GTX swap would be easiest. Or if you don't wanna do the whole motor swap, just get parts from the GTX. Turbo, manifold etc...

My best (and nicest) advice to you would be to not purchase anything before you did some more reading.

                      Buy Maximum Boost.

Read this thread for a discussion on eBay turbo kits:

(You may have to register, I can't recall if guests can view threads)

Above all, search! There is a ton of useful information out there on various forums.

A GTX setup can net you around 200 to the wheels at 15psi. The VJ20 isn't good for much more than that, but it's a decent place to start. Be sure you leave room in your budget for fuel/timing controls. A GTX computer will be fine to start, after that you should be thinking about a standalone (MS, AEM, Haltech, etc). Bandaids are full of fail.

With a set of ARP head studs, a bone stock BP will take PLENTY of abuse from a VJ20. Just make sure you have enough fuel.

coool thanks for the advice! so a gtx setup is what im looking at now, the vj20 seems to be hard to locate though I've been looking around no one seems to sell them really...

Honestly... find a GTX manifold and a T3 adapter plate. The VJ20 really isn't that great of a turbo, and T3s are plentiful and cheap. JGS Precision Turbo has a kit for running T3 oil lines on a BP, and you can get 5-bolt flanges from pretty much anywhere... ATP is a good place to get Garrett stuff.
