adding the overboost buzzer & boost light

    for people with gtx ecu's,
did anyone ever add the overboost buzzer & boost light function?

i assume you would need the oem gtx or mazda mx-6 boost solinoid to make it work plus some other stuff, i was thinking about coming up with a way,to maybe to have the buzzer funtion work off of a light or somthing instead of a buzzer and have a seprate light for boost indactior light.

i remember talking to some people about this a long time ago, but forgot all the info i got,or gather about it.

its all controled through the ecu on both the gtx and gtr ecu's

    on the ecu:
    r/hand connector= red/yellow =overboost warning buzzer
    r/hand connector=white = turbocharge indicator

    injoy.

i give my wife a quarter inch at a time for thoes ten seconds or less im free

I try to see things from your point of view...but I just can't seem to get my head THAT far up my ass.

thanks,i seen them on the gtx pinout sheet, now can anyone help me figure out how excatly these functions work in the oem format of things.
i dont have the gtx gauge cluster and i don't want one, like i said before i would be wiring these to funtion on a aftermarket/not stock light.
      any input would be helpful.

cant you just get the circuit in the dash to flash/light were its supposed to with a bulb in place and what ever else is needed? like i think i read the cel light changes to something else when using the bp26 ecu or something, but im sure theres some sort of extras needed to get what you want to work but im not sure....

its a signal wire so it will be 12v positive then ground to the chassis, get the bulb and wires from a door pannel then drill a hole in the steering wheel surround and plug it through there positive to positive ground to ground presto bulb lights up when boost kicks and for the buzzer get a old beep sound alarm clock smash it and take the speaker just make sure you hook it up with resistors so it dont blow

                info i got from BPT323

the boost light is directly correlated to what VAF your using, if your running a Y code GTX. your boost light will be accurate. however if your running a B code rx7 meter it will be off & not register until 5psi or so.

still a neat feature. i can generally guide you on how to wire in the light to your cluster

Primarily, the lightbulb in the cluster is positive fed. & the ecu gives a ground signal to light it up.

pin 2R from the GTX ecu is the ground for the light switches to ground when indicated by the ecu.
within the stock harness splicing the wire from 2R to 1E in the black dash plug will activate it to use the check engine light as a boost indicator. if you wish to move it to the stock location just repin the cluster plug moving the terminals around(super easy)

                thanks

does anyone know if the overboost buzzer works in the same way( as BPT323 explained) as the boost indicator light?

yes it does, a buzzer is wired 12v and then goes to the pin on the ecu, when the overboost is sensed the terminal grounds out and the buzzer turns on

o.k. here is what i did, i mounted 2 small indactor lights in a small box and mounted it by my cluster i pulled a switch 12 volt to each and ran the other wires to the correct pins, 1 for boost light and 1 to the over boost buzzer.
instead of a buzzer its a light know.

i went to test it out and the overboost light works when i hit fuel/boost cut.
but the boost light does not.

according to BPT323 the boost light works off the VAM....
im using the u-code VAM, n/a harness gtx ecu.

does it not work with the oem vam/air meter?

the boost light won't be accurate on anything but the Y code VAF

I had the light hooked up running the rx7 meter and the light would come on at 4-5 PBS boost.

When i had the GTX ecu, this is what i had done with my boost light output.

                              BG Astina + GTR convertion + Microtech ECU + FMIC + 3" Exhaust x 21psi boost = 12.168sec to the power of 326whp
