Just wondering where did you install your EGT probe?
Pre-turbo, post-turbo?... and how far down the line?

pre turbo gives you the most useful readings, but dont leave it in all the time. eventually the probe may become damaged and get sucked through your turbine.
if you feel you must leave it in all the time, put it IMMEDIATELY after the turbine. the further you get from the engine, the less meaningful your reading becomes.

I've decided that my car is a girl, she's picky as hell, won't listen to me, always wants to fight me, and when i give her presents it's never good enough and she always wants more.
When its mounted in the downpipe you just cant forget that the exhaust coming out of the head is actually several hundred degrees hotter than the reading you're getting.
