No, it's not necessary. You can always just let the car run for a minute or so before shutting it off. Once you get in the habbit of doing it, you will get used to it.
    Or
you can get an alarm that has a turbo timer similar function in it.

remeber it depends on how hard you drive. If your not boosting like a mad man, you won't have to leave the car on all the time.

Bruce, i don't think there are any alarms that have that fuction... if there are... that's pretty cool. but I don't know about that. Proto2k, just let it run for a minute...

Yeah see if you can get some brand names for me. It would be nice to kill two birds with one stone.

You only have to let it run if you've boosted a lot or driven a really long way or something that would heat the turbo up a lot more than normal driving... if you just drive to work at a normal speed it's not an issue.

Well I will be boostin about 9psi daily so it is going to put some hard work on the turbo. I'll just add it to the build cost.

Thanks Bruce. Here's another question. When the turbo goes in I will need to get some dyno tuning done. What is everyone's thoughts on air/fuel controllers? And what brands do you guys know of. I saw an Apex one but it was over $300.

afc wont work at wide open throttle (wot). at not wot condition the af ratio works with an equation something like for x amount of air the engine gets y amount of fuel, but at wot the equation is gone and the computer inputs a preset fuel value, hence the afc (which works by tricking the computer into thinking more fuel is need to obtain the proper af ratio) no effective at wot.

(at the least this is true for the first gens)
a rising rate fpr should be able to compensate at wot

I can't explain it so that anyone else would understand. I know what he is talking about with the afc but I can't put it into words that you could figure out.

aight bruce, don't get upset. my car is an auto right now, but that doesn't mean it's gonna stay that way after the swap. at some point we just assumed the tranny cooler since I have an auto right now, but nto for long...

I've actually found a package deal very near (engine, MT ECU, MT, wiring harness)... I'm trying to source the funds, but the "investor" is on a business trip to Korea and the acquisition of the BP is on hold.
