    boost and fidanza flywheel

Right now I have a fidanza flywheel and a hy35 turbo on my car and it seems to make the turbo spool slower than other people that have a hy35 on there car. Iirc it is a 10lb flywheel. In 5th gear it will start building boost by 3000 but 5th gear puts a good load on my car. In lower gears it seems to only start spooling by 3800 in 2nd and 3rd gear. I know that this light flywheel isn't probably helping much since it is making it harder to put a load on the motor. Would spool be increased by putting a stock flywheel on the car?

Other way round. A heavier flywheel is gonna make the engine rev up slower, making more lag. Any gain to be had in increased load will be offest by this. Moving the car is more than enough engine load, really. Show me someone who's turbo spools up faster than someone else with the same turbo and same size engine, and I'll show you someone who has better flow in thier intake and exhaust. I have 8lb fidnanzas in both my cars and won't go back to stock for nuthin...

well maybe I have a boost leak then. Car has never had a stock flywheel on it so I just wanted a second opinion.

Boost leak maybe. If you still have an airflow meter you don't have a leak cuz if you did it just woulnd't run at all. otherwise it could be timing, it could be clogged cat, it could be lots of things but I don't think light flywheel is one of them.

i have to agree with jay. the fidanza's seem to make the most difference on the boosted car's when ive ran them.
