    turbo internal wastegate help

Hey guys I just upgrade to a t3/t4 48 trim turbo I went to install it all today and my wastegate hits the block. So I had to move it up a little well in doing that the wastegate arm got bent a little and the wastegate is sitting wide open right now so the thing I am wanting to know is it going to work ok with the arm bent and should the wastegate be open without and air or boost on it right now. I will try and get some pics up of the arm tomrrow so u guys can see.

No, you gotta fix that and hope to hell you didn't bust the diaphragm in the acuator. Arm should mos def not be bent like that, certainly not so the WG is held open. I had the same clearance issue running the gt28r on my rallycar. Solved it by relocating the actuator to where it would clear and making a new arm. We made it adjustable length so we could get the preload right.

I don't have a step by step, and your setup is different from mine anyhow. We made a new barcket for the actuator and put it basically on the outside of the cold side and that gave us room to clear the block. You might try reclocking the coldside, maybe that gives you clearance, if you get make an arm that'll puch on the WG in a straight line from whatever angle it ends up at. Otherwise, go find a vj14 or vj20 WG actuator as they are much smaller and may fit as is.
