    VJ23 limits

Just curious as to where this 350hp number comes from. Is that just what people have recorded or...? looking at specs it seems that the turbo is good for 582cfm, comparing that to a evo3 big 16g which can flow 550cfm. However it seems that people are able to get closer to 400hp with those turbos. Is the 4G63 that much better than a bp? I already have a pretty nice gtr turbo setup and am planning to pick up another here shortly for my protege4wd. With proper management and say 700cc injectors, which is what I believe I would want for a near 80% duty cycle and maxing the turbo out, is there any reason why I shouldnt see more than 350hp? Sorry if this is showing my noobness.

They used to rally that sucker at 30+psi. I keep mine at 22-23 with 550cc injectors running in the red. laptop dyno says somewhere round 330whp. 4g63 =2.0l, so we're down on displacement, but I know there are 400hp GTR motors out there.

'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

Thanks jay, do you keep it at 22-23 for fueling reasons, turbo longevity or both? Also have you run into much that can keep up on the street?

The old Link ECU in that car only has a 2 bar map sensor so 23psi gives me a 1psi um "safety" net. Otherwise I'd turn it up more. Cuz I'm kinda stoopid that way.
There are always cars that are faster than whatever you're driving, I'm quite certain there's an invesment banker in LA in a Veyron who just got his ass handed to him by some punk in a '72 Nova with a blown-n-juiced 572 bigblock. but noooo, that pos of mine doesn't get pooped on very often...the guy in the M5 was most definitely surprised to see this thing staying on his tail and then reeling him in, that's for certain.
But I think I mighta been more surprised than him. Those are pretty damn fast cars.
