    autometer boost gauge pooched...any recommendations?

My boost gauge reads almost 5 psi low. I like the basic black autometer mechanical, green back light, but need to find one I can trust. I have a digital readout in my injector controller, and borrowed another gauge...both confirm major inaccuracy of the old autometer. My borrowed / accurate gauge is autometer cobalt...I sure don't like the blue glow, so...

Any recommendations for another low cost alternatives?

Prosport is supposed to be okay and seems like it would match the stock gauges pretty well.

Autometer 2601 is probably what you're looking for.

Here is what the green prosports look like on my car:

I have only a mechanical vacuum gauge which is in the lower hole of the gauge pod, but the boost gauge will look very similar.

The price is very good and you can find them on ebay a little cheaper it seems.

****in hell those Prosports are bright.

I think Greddy/Trust gauges match the stock stuff the best actually.

was yours the mechanical boost gauge? Also how do you know it's out of calibration? lol

Personally I'd go Prosport or Autometer again, I haven't had any issues with my Autometer set (knock on wood)

They are yes but its really not as bad as you think it would be at night. It does help in the day time with the sun shinning on them.

I am going to get some green LED cluster bulbs eventually to see if it helps the dash lights blend better, as now they look kinda dim in comparison.

I found some pics of those greddy gauges mounted in a WRX and the green appears to be "softer"

Pat (ne3ek or whatever on here) had a Greddy EGT gauge in his GT that looked just about perfect iirc

^totally agree^ Greddy ones are pretty much the same as the stock cluster lighting. I would go with those and the quality of them are reputable. just my thoughts tho

Greddy stuff isn't really "low cost" though, even used.

Does the Prosport dim down?...I wired my Autometer gauges to the dash diming circuit; nice, but the temporary Cobalt boost gauge is LED and does not dim...too fn brite.

                        I'll prob get another Autometer.

My SDS Xtrata Injector Controller has digital boost readout, and it agrees with the reading of the borrowed gauge. Those readings as a base line confirm that my boost gauge reads low...about 3 - 4 psi low is not close enough for me.

I have done much internet surfing for a similar guage...and since Autometer is a decent value...I will have to try em again I guess.
