Setting your timing up to proper specs

For my future BP05 project ahead I have my vj 20 turbo on its way, as well as a load of other parts such as GTX cams, GTX ECU, GTX injectors, and all the accessories needed to turbo my car. I will be redoing the motor as well as all gaskets. But my one question is, what would a guy set his timing at for this change and how would you do so. I'm sure there is a spec to go by when you turbo your car and I want to be sure I know what to set the timing at so I don't go wreck anything, I also am going to get a B code VAF meter for the car.

set it to whatever factory is, 10* BTDC or whatever.

B-code kinda sucks, I had better luck with the U/K hybrid

And how does a guy go about setting their timing? Explain why B code VAF kind of sucks haha

When I ask questions I expect a simple response or point me where to go. I have the knowledge to turbo my car, I simply am asking about the timing becuase it's a change in the car and everyone recommends different specs sometimes so I was asking for clarification as well as how to do the timing properly. Not some dumb reply like you seem to post on a lot of my topics

I guess Google it is, I don't respect someone telling me "he's not ready to turbo" as a response though .

Every thread you post is you asking for things already on the site, expect for the hilarious one that included a "high-speed transmission".

Just download the gtx supplement and look through it.

The site is mainly here for help and direction for the most part, a guy can't ask some questions and choose routes from others expieriences or what? Oh well sorry for losing my cool, I understand 👍

Just loosen the two bolts holding down the disty, and turn it all the way clockwise. Thats what you want for boost. Dont even need the engine running to do it.

^ thank you for your response in a decent manner, simple as that 👍 I figured the dizzy would be the best way to do it. I know you can adjust your cam gear differently but turning the dizzy is a little more simple and then just throw the timing light at it should give me an accurate reading. Thanks again

absolutely no more than 14° BTDC 93 octane only.
anything else & you'll risk nuking the motor

I run 89 octane as is already but I'll be jumping to 91 once I'm done my turbo setup.

I've messed with the timing on my BP enough now, Loosen Disty bolts, Crank to max, then back off idk, like 1/16" or so. You can check it with a timing light but its SUCH A BITCH to see the marks.
