40 is way high and would explain the 60.

A good direction to go would be to install a lsd, making sure you get traction to both wheels. It's kinda a no brainer, only downside is the cost...sure wish I had an lsd on my 2nd gen...

yea, LSD is hopefully going to happen this winter in time for next year. Along with a built motor.

I don't know how fast thats going to happen though, I'm pretty full with bills and debt..lol.

Id bet if I learned to launch better, had an LSD, lower tire PSI, and at sea level, I could probably hit low 14s

I'm totally late to the party, but CONGRATS! As far as any of us know, you're currently the fastest 1st Gen Protege. There's a guy in a 323 Astina Sport 20(Protege5) in Australia running a 14.8.

I can't believe you got the car down to 1900lbs!! That's reassuring though, since when the day comes to rebuild my 93, I was setting a goal of sub-2000lbs.

                      post ressurection. . .

what engine mods are on that car that ran 14.9? 91 mph is pretty low for a high 14 second slip, so id say you didnt spin that much. . . did it bog a lot on launch? i noticed the 60' time is pretty average for a fwd with no lsd, but the drag radials should have dropped that a couple tenths so thats why im asking. im going to do some creative weight loss after i finish my brakes and suspension (phase 1) and run mine at the local drag track with no engine mods.

Darren junked that protege because he's a loser, now he hardly comes around. Your best bet is to shoot him a PM if you really need to know.

I'm just kidding about him being a loser.

He wasn't even putting down that much power. His car was pretty stock under the hood.

Mark(Escortkid) has a N/A monster. Yes it is possible, but not very cost effective.
