There definately is a lot of room for improvement with launching. if you're spinning then there is potential for wheelhop, and wheel hop is what breaks these trannies and axles the easiest.
the crappier the tire (street tires), the easier they are to spin. you basically CANT launch a turbo fwd on street tires and not spin like crazy. the only way to do it is to baby it off the line like you're pulling away from a street light... and you're times will suck doing that.
on 205 50 15 drag radials, with a warm track and a good launch, my car didnt spin hardly at all. just a little chirp and squeal here and there, and 1.9x to 2.0x 60' times. thats launching at ~5500 rpm and slipping the crap out of the clutch.Escort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. yea i think my protege gt ran 10.2 in the 1/8th lol. This had traction issues
I couldn't see a tire fill station, so i left them at 32psi (street tires)
