if you're lucky you wont break an axle, i had horrible wheel hop the one time i drag raced on street tires....
if youve never been to the track before... i'm gonna guess a low 14, high 13 if you're lucky. you should be able to put down a good trap speed at least
dont bother lowering your tire pressure, you dont have enough sidewall to make it worth it.

Good tips Jon - why do you think breaking an axle is so likely with street tires?

I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.
Is the car gutted or street form? Basic GTX setup in the GT in street form, low 14's-high 13's, gutted might make mid 13s

in my limited experience trying to drag race on street tires, i found that they didnt seem to play nice with the sticky track surface. they would hook and then slip, hook, slip, which would creschendo into some nasty wheel hop. it might be better with the lsd since you wont have the problem of power jumping back and forth across the diff as well. the drag radials hook and stay hooked a lot better... when they slip i do still get some wheel hop, though.

Since I don't have any experience this is valuable - thanks. I will see what comes of Friday.
basically i guess the short way to put it would be that any wheel hop you get on the street is magnified at the drag strip because of the sticky surface
oh yeah, i'm sure you knew this but... drive around the water box and do a quick dry chirp of the tires just to clean off the pebbles/sand. burnouts will make street tires have even less traction.
