^^^ I'm going to try to take you up on that as well!!

I was thinking about going to the Saturday morning "Novice Competitor Seminar" from 9-11, depending on our work schedule. Sometimes we end up missing Parc Expose completely because we're heading out on course to get in place for the early stages.

Is it just for competitors, or would it be something worth sitting in on? I'm thinking it would be good information, for my future plans of being a competitor.

You can probably go to the Novice meeting. I don't think anyone would care. They basically explain how rallies work and explain emergency procedures. If you've looked through the rulebook and wondered how time controls work, it is great. They don't teach you how to drive though, they expect you to figure that out on your own.

the driving part's not the part I would go to a meeting to learn, it's more of the behind-the-scenes organizational/paperwork/infrastructure type stuff.

Ajax, you should've put water wings on the oxen!!!

Let us know what happened, when you get all settled back and move back to your regular pace. It was good meeting you, and poking my nose here and there at the rally car! It gave me a really good idea for a light bar, better than my current one, that should work across all of my BG's!

Hey! Jorden, it was good to meet you. Yeah, I have no problem with people poking around my car. I usually even ask people if they want to sit in it.

As for the DNF, there were some really wet spots on Herman I & II that got the better of several competitors. They told us not to worry about the water but it turns out that there was about a 200-300 yard straight that was basically all underwater. I ended up getting the ignition box wet and had to retire after the car shut off in the next transit.

Here's something I noticed after I went to pick up my car from Kenton on Sunday.

Anyone got any suggestions on stronger rear top mounts? Also I think I bent my Cusco front top mounts too. Jim, Jon, what do you guys use?

There are some more pictures of my car floating around out there. There's one really good one of the watercrossing that I think put me out but I think I'm going to have to pay for it.

                      Yikes!!!

I've heard good things about bone-stock Subaru mounts, cheap and strong. But I think the holes will need to be re-drilled, and it might take a bushing around the upper mounting bolt to match the bore. But, that's just hearsay, and I don't even remember where I read about it.

As far as the light bar, My current light bar is bolted to the C-channel of an Escort bumper.

I've got to change the whole bumper if I want to move it between cars. Plus, the mazdas don't have a c-channel like that.

Paul had a lightbar that was mounted on the insides of the core support. So the bumper itself wasn't involved with the bar at all. I'm thinking of some mounts that I can put on a couple different cars like that, and have the ability to change the light bar between cars. still gotta figure out how I want to mount the HID ballass, with that configuration, though.

Here's the whole stage. For whatever reason the sound didn't get recorded so my co-driver thought it would be funny to pretend that it was a silent movie.
