Like to try this but with 130k on the clock I am wondering about burning oil.

Meh. Next oilchange, go for it. Maybe go a bit thicker viscosity, specially down there in Florida, I don't see how it'd burn any more'n dino oil. It may however leak through tired seals more, maybe. Only one way to find out, if it's not good go back...

That synthetic oil "burns off" more rapidly than mineral oil is a myth. In the distant past, synthetic oil was prone to leak through some seals but modern formulations have additives that prevent such an occurence. In fact, because of the greater thermal stability and lower volativity of synthetic oils under the same driving conditions, oil consumption is lower than would be possible with mineral oils.

Rank ordering downward from highest thermal stability and lowest volativity:
Polyol ester>PAO>hydrocracked Group III>Groups II and I straight mineral oils

Mine uses less oil since I switched to synthetic.
Also as a general rule, if your leaking it; use thicker oil to slow the usage (till you fix the leak). If your burning it; use thinner oil to slow the usage. There's always exceptions to this tho. (just what they taught us in tech school years ago)
