id take on the task. but i reckon a replacement JY trans would be a better bet.
I have a spare rear casehalf i could mail out to ferdi for the end plate mod & a complete but unassembled transmission laying about somewheres...

It's supposed to be pretty warm tomorrow. I think I'm going to try my hand at making one good trans out of my two bad ones. Wish me luck!

I got the trans torn apart and swapped out the broken gear. I went ahead and threw in a better looking synchro and the gear next to it while I had everything apart. I'll get the case put back together when it warms up. High of 13 degrees and no heater means I stay on the couch.
