You need more than 275 whp to keep up with a viper btw... look up cheesefrog... his civic kept up with a viper and he had way more than 275 @ the front wheels.

Lex - congrats on teh runs dood, I am sure your heart was pounding the whole time.
I have a friend that lost horrably to a viper in his civic. He's running like 450whp too.

My buddies GSX could get close to if not take that thing; 18psi, 320whp. He took a corvette by three car lengths... I am soooo jealous of his car. The thing is wicked fast and it has a crazy custom made clutch for the beast, it can take 2500lbs of torque before it would even think about slipping. Anywho last time it ran the track it did a 12.6 but that was even before all the tuning was done, he will probably be down to low 12's now.

off the line my dad's road runner could take it.. Hemi power rocks. In terms of top speed however the the road runner would be no match.

the viper is a 12 second car ... like jitb37, it would take a lot to take one on. Forget about it if that V10 is in any way modified.

I saw a civic beat a stock viper once. Smoked the hell out of him. Of course the civic was a $75,000 car, and you could tell the viper driver wasn't that experienced. I heard vipers are pretty heavy too.

gtx 1.8 in a scort with mods and a good driver could beat em in the quarter I know of some that run 11's , he'll take you in the top end though no contest.

:bsmeter: First of all why would you put $75,000 into a civic and second of all I have to see it to believe any of your stories. A Viper is in a class of its own. We can't touch it except with another viper or equivalent. And happy 4th of July to all you guys.

There was a guy in Toronto a couple of years back who could beat stock Vipers in a street race with a turbo'd MX3.

EDIT: I was gonna find the old post on protegeclub but apparently they deleted all the old ****. That's dumb, there was still useful information lying around.

The Viper can be beaten with a turboed 1.8 l I4 ... but I don't think the 1.8 is streetable at that point.

I was gonna say, put up a stock viper against a civic drag car and watch the 1.8L destroy the v10. Its not impossible.
The T3 BP MX-3 conversion has begun, and is taking forever & will kill me.
