    Redneck Drifting In A Fwd

i shall be talking about drifting. first off, im no frikin moron fag that goes off telling storys and lies about stuff and i am VERY familiar with 240's/ae86's/other RWD imports. I DO DRIFT RWD'S ACCASSIONALLY, only 2 of my friends own drag civics... the rest have FC rx7's, AE86 corolla and mostly SR nissan 240's.

ANYWAY, i just got back from a 240sx meet a couple hours ago and i drifted the ass out of my fwd protege. im not talkin about E-braking pussy corners goin 20mph and trying to counter steer(power sliding like a noob). i was actually tandeming with 240's. my friends(about 20 of em) could NOT stop laughing their asses off. i couldnt even believe it... i used to e-brake my old civics around corners and stuff but this was just CRAZY. im talkin total tandem drifting with my friends' built 240's even around wide curves goin 30-50 and connecting every drift. ofcourse my protege is a fwd and we werent expecting it to do crap... but what turned out to be a joke run, made our night. we only tried it cuz i came to the meet with my new BP 4-door and everyone else had 240's, it started when i cracked a joke to my friend who sucks at drifting that i think even my fwd protege can take his ass.(im a better drifter than him anyway)

ill post pics of my ride and hopefully ill take some vids of the crazyness within the next few days, i want you guys to see it. SOME FUNNY ASS STUFF, my friend that was in the car with me was just dying the whole time cracking up and screaming, "HOLY SH**!! LOL"

REMEMBER I DONT EXPECT ANY OF YOU GUYS TO BELIEVE THAT I WAS TANDEMING WITH 240's, cuz i wouldnt believe it either. i was iffy on posting this on this forum but what the hell right?

my dad is a pastor and i SWEAR TO GOD im no retard BSer

haha its stock... my car was swaying pretty bad and it was scaring me, EXTREMELY difficult to handle, good thing it was a lil bit wet. i think if it was totally dry i woulda probably done way worse.

im thinkin once i get my H&R's and kyb's, ill be able to have more fun. but yea dont get the impression that im building a drift protege lol. i have better cars to drift with
honestly, im still feeling the adrenaline... im writing a paper for my history class right now and my hands kinda shaky lol

disconnect the front swaybar & stuff a big rear swaybar on there, & tighten down the endlinks real good.

heck ya ill stiffin the crap outa the suspension. im at stock ride height right now...

i had wayyy too much fun tonight, now i wanna sell my protege and get me an s13 240 - almost the same price as my mazda. pretty sad

EDIT- wait i totally forgot, i did install some wheel spacers cuz my front wheels crush the front brake calipers... at first when my car couldnt move an inch, i thought my brakes messed up or something so when i just gunned my car, i almost ripped off the calipers lol. so yea maybe the wheel spacers kinda helped me

personally i figure thats NOT the way to start thread.

but considering its not mine its time to address the issue. i believe you could have gotten it sideways... but all this talk of not "ebraking pussy corners" the only fwd drift ive seen the guy actively handled the ebrake to keep him sideways through the turn... and he wasnt doing a "pussy" 30-50 he was going balls to the wall.

Its all good id like to see a video before i make many more comments, comments such as: Im sure you got sideways next to your buddy but i think your hyping it up whooptie-freakin-doo, what you fail to tell us is that it was NOTHING like a rwd, you did keep pace but not nearly as gracefully and not nearly as controlled... but again as i mentiond ill wait to give comments like that till a vid.
There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

oh wow sorry i was just hella excited... i fixed it. and yea your right i failed to mention it wasnt anything like a RWD. ofcourse it wasnt but it was sure a good fun time. and you were right again about the e-braking. i did have to handle it aorund the turns, i was just implying that hella people just e-brake their fwd's around corners goin slow and call it drifting. i would never say/believe that a fwd car can drift as good as or better than a rwd. hell no. like i said, i am very familiar with 240's and i know a thing or too about drifting.

sorry if i sounded like a excited 5 year old, but hey ill try to video tape some fwd drifts later lol. i hope northwest nissan/hachiroku forum doesnt find this post LOL

hope you guys reading dont get the wrong idea that i claim i can drift REALLLY good with my protege... i just thought it was something to share cuz i thought it was the most fun iv ever had in a fwd. last thing i want is to sound like a bs bragger. like i said before, i was very iffy on posting this on this forum. damn

yea it does... today at the same time i was messing around, i went downhill on this long curve and my rear wheels started sliding without me e-braking and my car spun out and i almost nailed a large mailbox goin reverse.

i failed to mention all my screw ups lol, i did mess up alot tonight

In a FWD car it's SLIDING not drifting.

yep, I can easily slide my protege, do it on the twisty turning around my house all the time, no problem there, would hardly call it drifting though.

And a 195/60/13 is only 20mm wider than a 175/70/13 which is what should be stock on the 13"equipped proteges. And its actualy 14.21mm shorter. I run 195/75/13's on mine and they are far from wide.
