I don't think he was very amused. 2nd gear to 6K was enough.

I saw the Camaro and the Nissan coming out of the dealership gunning it and then stopping fast for the stop sign. Since I was on the street across from them I could see them coming and let them go first. The Camaro was in front so he made the next light. The Z had to stop so I pulled up beside him. He was inching up on the light like he was itching to go. I'm not even sure he knew I was there because he was so far out in the intersection when the light turned. Since it was up front about his intentions I launched hard and got a car length lead on him. He couldn't catch me and had to let off.
In truth, I suspect it was just some guy moving cars between dealerships so wasn't familiar with the personality of the car, and because it was just some guy he probably wasn't truly invested in winning the race. Still, he had it to the floor at some point and he couldn't catch me. I won biach.1991 Protege LX with GTX swap, DD1990 4WD Protege with GTX swap, Project/garage decoration2006 Mazda 3 with 2.3, Her car1980 Ford F100 Short bed with 300ci 6 cylinder, work truck/home for moss

"There's a hierarchy of insanity in motor sports. Normal people think all racers are crazy. Folks who race sedans think people in open-wheel cars are nuts. People who race cars of any kind think motorcycle racers are absolutely off theirs meds. But there's one group that everyone agrees is made up of the most extreme, the most daring, and absolutely craziest people in racing - rally racers."

That's just it. I got him on the launch and for 2 gears I had him. If it had gone to 120, meh?
I really don't think he was expecting my car to be the threat it turned out to be so I caught him off guard.1991 Protege LX with GTX swap, DD1990 4WD Protege with GTX swap, Project/garage decoration2006 Mazda 3 with 2.3, Her car1980 Ford F100 Short bed with 300ci 6 cylinder, work truck/home for moss
