The ONLY thing that matters is the Saturn IOn is the butt-ugliest car to roll upon asphalt in any free country. The steering wheel airbag looks like a chicken pot pie. You could crawl between the body panel gaps. Car & Driver said it best.." We waited 10 years for THIS?"

its power to weight ratio and gearing. The ion has a getrag 5 speed that i would bet money has much better gearing than whatever transmission this guy had, and i know its better than the celicas.
Gear Ratios:
1 3.380:1
2 1.760:1
3 1.180:1
4 0.890:1
5 0.700:1
Final drive: 4.050:1
Differential: Open
Protege LX
Gear Ratios:
1 3.307:1
2 1.833:1
3 1.310:1
4 1.030:1
5 0.795:1
Final drive: 4.105:1
Differential: Open
Oh yeah... wayyyy better ratios

Originally posted by 2.4~TuNeR~GoDbut i gotta wonder....what mods do you ahve to run 15s? Crownvics are mid 15second cars even with a light bar.
...the 4180-pound Vic bringing up the tail at 7.9 seconds with a lazy 16.2-second quarter-mile at 88 mph. The V-8 pulls with a V-6's enthusiasm up long grades, and the transmission, with just four speeds to cajole the power from the unwilling engine, downshifts reluctantly over its big gaps..._________________________________

Why call it a kill?
You mentioned that after he pulled out :
>>>you were dead even for a 1/4 of a mile.<<<<
So, thats no kill in my point of view. I was not there to see you guys race, but once again, been dead even for 400 meters is no kill.
Just be careful when driving like that. If he gets killed or another driver on the opposite lane while racing you is your skin who is goin to be booked. (Involuntary Manslaughter). Just be cautious.
My bad, old thread!
