    Newbie with an itch

New guy in Utah saying what's up to everyone. My need to modify and build has bit me in the ass again and led me here, I am the owner of a pristine bone stock '95 protege LX auto with barely 130K on the clock and not a dent, scratch or tear to be found. I have been in the DSM scene for 10 years and I think I can finally keep the promise to my wife that I will never buy another one again. I just can't justify looking for a month to find a factory part and spending ten minutes to fix the car only to break something else in another ten minutes. Don't get me wrong I love my DSM's and have had several fast cars but they are just getting too damn hard to find in the junk yards and factory drivetrain parts go for a premium IF you can find someone willing to sell it to you.
Now to the Protege... I got the car for a dd from a guy that said the head was cracked and only wanted some stereo trade work done and he would give me the car. Long story short I installed about $200 worth of stuff I had sitting in my garage in his explorer and found a new intake hose to replace the cracked one for the Protege and the rest is history. I feel the need to build an absolute sleeper. I had a hard time getting the vette and viper guys to race after a few of them had been stung by a DSM before. Thing is I haven't seen a boosted 2nd gen Pro ever. I'm not expecting a 500hp bike killing freeway monster but I think a forged BP with the right turbo (maybe a k26, think inexspensive and plentiful) and 300 whp will sooth my need for sleeper stealth and a little surprise. My plan is to find a running 1G BP Pro and swap motors being that I can find a clean one for next to nothing around here. I'd pulling the z5 out of my 95 and putting it in the 1G to be the new dd. Then over the next couple of months re building the BP with the right stuff and dropping it in the 2G. I'll try to post pics if anyone is interested in the progress.. suggestions are welcomed

Ha, the days of the "rattle can my interior the same color as my car" and F&F shopping cart wings are long gone for me. Thankfully I got them out of my system years ago. i must admit I love clean oem style lips and maybe some side skirts on the right car but this one will be totally stock exterior. Well maybe some flat black 16" rota slipstreams if I can find it in the budget.

I peered out from the castle window and looked over the splendor of ROTM county. Yes, twas' a much simpler time back then. Peasants would go about their postings, and I, the mod, would rule over them with an iron fist.

Orem is a nice enough place to live. Def no BP's that I've seen down here, just a couple nice EG hatch's, two REALLY healthy evo's, one sick NSX that runs at Miller and one STUPID fast 2nd gen DSM. If you do end up moving down here hit me up, a couple of us are setting up shop in a decent size garage in Provo out by the lake... Steve
