Hi there,

Dicko here, from Port Stephens in NSW Australia. I have recently acquired a 1992 Ford Laser TX3 AWD Turbo (based on the BG Familia/323 series). It is basically Standard with the BP-T engine and AWD Transmission. Has had a few minor mods; Exhaust, Recaro Seats, Momo Steering wheel, Adjustable Boost etc.

Hoping to find info on what others have been doing to their cars and how well mods work (or not).

Looks like it. I didn't realise they were sold as Escorts in the US. It has a BP-T, Intercooled, and is AWD (equivalent to a BG 323/familia GTX).

I like that some of your Escorts have clear front turn signal lenses.... Ours are Orange and I'd love to swap to clear with Orange Bulbs. Might have to check US Ebay and see what I can find.

the headlights are different afaik though, so you would probably have to switch to usdm escort headlamps, which are made of crappy plastic. nice car though, wish we got them stateside

Best bit was i got it for $0!

My brother owned it from new and was moving interstate, it was easier for him to give it to me than try and relocate it. I didn't complain

Very nice! I thought they made clear corners for the laser TX3 over there? If you're serious about trying to fit usdm clear corners, I would suggest pming Skuce. He's the only person I know of that has imported a laser tx3 headlight/corner assembly. From what I understand, the USDM 91-96 Mercury Tracer headlights and Escort/Tracer corners have the same general shape as the TX3's. However the TX3 has different mounting points. He would know more about how to get them to fit.

i love the laser, i really gotta get me some of them door panels, ours look soo cheap...lol...
