Sandblast Rally - South Carolina 2/4/12 - Full speed, dodging trees in my Protege MP3

Hi - new to posting, but I have been lurking for some time now.

Wanted to give you the heads up about Sandblast Rally, February 4, 2012 in Cheraw, SC!!!! It is run on surfaces that go from 5" deep loose sand to clay that's ice-slick depending on the weather. It's a great chance to watch some Rally action, or to get out on stage as a volunteer (and YES, as a volunteer you will get to drive on stage..not at speed, but it's still fun.) Check out this video from 2007: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANue-...396131C036F147

I will be running my 2001 Mazda Protege MP3. It is a fully-prepared rally car - i.e. full roll cage, FIA seats, rally intercom and computer, gravel coilover suspension, etc. It will be my first rally where I compete, but the car's 7th event.

So come out and Volunteer if you can. Feel free to stop by the service area if you can make it and check out the Mazda. As of today, it is the only Mazda out of all entries.

I volunteered last year in Rally WV, had a blast and got hooked. They always are looking for volunteers - it does not matter if you don't have experience and it is the best way to get as close to the action as possible. As a volunteer you can:
-Check out rally cars (and Rally motorcycles)
-Get to drive on actual Rally stages in your car
-Get to sit right beside a Rally stage where cars will fly past at high speed.
-Get to hang out with drivers, and ask about their cars, preparation, or racing in general.
Oh yeah... as a volunteer, It's all free....Free fun, free food, and FREE BEER
