    Greetings and salutations, everyone.

I've got my mother's car in my hands for a while while she can't drive for a while. It's a 2003 Protege, and she says it's due for an oil change and makes a lot of belt noise. It's got the usual belt noise that I've already read up on. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the wealth of information here about that. I'm going to order an OE belt shortly. The windshield is a mess and the car generally needs a little TLC. She's been partially immobilized, so I think that getting the car cleaned and keeping the class clean has just been a bit beyond her capabilities. I'm gonna fix its minor ailments and hope I don't break anything.

After that I'll check out the tires and brakes to see if all is well, and make sure the suspension doesn't have any issues. I think the right-front feels a little soft, but it could be anything or nothing as I've only driven it once so far.

Any advice or suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks!
