Hello, my name is Sean. I'm new to the BG platform but I'm known for my Probe GT over on Probetalk.com. My screen name there is WestPalmGT. A member here known as hppwdn (11 sec mx3 known as GoldMember )decided he was going to start up the meet called flyrtle again and wanted to build a race car for the event. We decided to stuff a kl with a turbo in the already light Mazda 323 hatch. He bought the motor and we used my turbo kit that was on my old probe and a few other left over parts we both had laying around. hppwdn spent a lot of time getting this thing put together in time for the meet. He swapped in the klg4, helped Jordan (shaodome over on probetalk) install the megasquirt , made a crossmember , made all the Intercoller pipping work , and installed everything I had and bought for the car. Also would like to thank Md323 for his vast experience with this platform and helping hppwdn with the dash harness.
Now about the car. It's a 1993 323 hatch that we used and gutted. It's powered by a now KLDE v6 with a 5758 PTE dual ceramic ball bearing turbo. 850cc rx7 inj. On e85 fuel. Unfortunately we were unable to race the car at the event due to 1. Took the car out to test n tune and the klg4 poped. We were able to swap in a Klde before the event but then 2. It rained and it was canceled.
Numbers.... Well the 1st klg4 dynoed 323 on 12lbs but that motor had a blown head gasket. So we went back to the junkyard and pulled another klg4 and that one popped at the track while doing a burn out. So with the now Klde we don't know the actual hp. We will have new dynos and ets soon tho.
