New owner of '88 and '89 GTX

    Hello All,

I ended up buying a couple of GTX's from a guy named Doug local to the forum here. Here was his old FS thread.

I picked up a clean 88 with 98k miles. I also have a parts car that I will turn into a project car after the miata is finished. Shown below is said cars.

    Both GTX's:

Meeting at Corksport would be great. Last time I was there was over a year ago. It was fun. I have added a few goodies to the GTX. Since the drivers side seat was near perfect condition I thought I would preserve it by putting in one of my miata seats. The Rails are nearly simular. The GTX is about 1.5 wider but the factory rails worked with the VS3 seats well. Coilover going on. I put in a Innovate wideband since the factory O2 was shot. Gas mileage is good. Gets about 22-23mpg. Since the car has been re-sprayed the paint comes off a bit easier so I added a bra. Put on a big front and rear sway bar with new end links.

Some updates. Got the car running well after a solid tune up and timing belt/water pump change. Car is starting to smoke when hitting the throttle after a large amount of vaccuum from going down a hill. I am seeing a motor build in my future. Maybe go with a full motor build out like the miata? I dont know yet.

Some Rota Slips and Dunlop Direzza. Rally armor flaps on.

It's lookin good! Subbin for future updates! Really like the Miata too, is it finished yet? If so, How is it with the MP90? We're working on an MP62 in place of the Jackson M45 on my little brothers 90 miata, he's been against stepping up to the MP90 that a friend has for sale, maybe you can convince him otherwise...
