I just bought a 1995 mazda protege LX 1.5L to have as my first car. I was trying to do some replacement work on my CV axles when on the passenger side we couldnt get the CV axle to separate from the jackshaft. We took it to a machine shop where they got it apart but messed up the mounting bracket, so I cant put a new bearing in it. I order a jackshaft from a scrapyard for a 1995 mazda protege 1.5L but that one doesn't fit onto my engine.
I just noticed that on the bracket my old one is labeled withe number 55 and the new one has a label of 56. I'm here for advice to see if anyone knows what the different is in my parts. The shafts are the same sizes and the engine mounting brackets are the same.
