    1993 Escort GT

    Hi I have a Iris Escort GT with who knows how many miles, speedo doesn't work. Love it! Has a 1.8 BP of course. Plan on boosting her. Had a Zx2 with stage 3 cams, tuning, SVT intake manifold, the works plus a snail. Currently having some problems with her after a timing belt/water pump, but that's a thread in the other forum,

    What exactly do you mean by stage 3 cams?

      Thanks for your input, totally logical theory! I no longer have the car but the Zetec and G5M are ready to drop in another Escort. I was going to put it in the EGT but this little BP is too cool to tear out!

      As far as cams I have a set of stage 3 comp cams. Its a full race cam profile for the zetec, very nice idle and great midrange to top end. I'll get some pics up of both cars when I wind down this evening.

        Are (were) they NA cams with high lift and lots of overlap for scavenging, or turbo cams with high lift and discrete timing? If you like the BP you should look at the FE3.

          your speedo cable & or your speedo gear is likely broken. pull out the battery & tray & have a look

            N/A cams that were not ever meant for boost, lots of lift. I 'tuned' it myself with SCT. I say 'tuned' because it was never perfect lol. I'm going to be swapping most the turbo parts off the zetec to the BP, the Zetec is going to be a N/A beast with a set of R1 carburetors

            I've been meaning to fix the speedo, have a emissions test coming up in May. I will look in to that FE3 engine. I've heard of it before. I'm enjoying my BP but I'm sure the little guy has a ton of miles on it. I wish I knew so I could durability test one of these out and see how many 100K marks I can get her through.

            Burping fixed my idle! Thanks so much again. Still can't get my heater to work. I took her for a drive and it came back, then quit again when I parked. Thinking maybe a short? I did disable the AC and plan on gutting all the AC crap out of it. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not, can't seem to find an AC relay anywhere to electronically disable it.
