    Hello, I'm from PA!

I've got a 96 Protege DX Automatic that I got about a year ago, and so far I loved every one of the 14,000 miles I've put on it in that year.

I should mention that it appears the car was converted from a DX to an LX, in the interior and with power everything, unless these were options for a DX, hopefully someone can clarify.

Anyways, I lurked on this forum for the past year and finally wanted to reply to a post and noticed I needed to post my welcome in order to do so, so here I am

I'll also add that I've not had too much trouble with my protege, I got it with about 82000miles and the only issue so far (besides small stuff like door switches and other gremlins) is that I have/had a cylinder 4 misfire for about 6 months, and now its to the point where I no longer get a code for it, but you can still REALLY feel it and hear it, and this is after new injectors, plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. Otherwise, I still get about 28-30mpg depending on how often I go WOT.

Hopefully there's still some life left in this forum for me and my car to enjoy

(oh and here's a picture of my car, was stock when I got it and remained stock until about 6 months ago, all mods done by me)

Welcome. Nice-looking car you have. How did the old sparkplugs look when you changed them? Sometimes when the valvecover gasket starts leaking it can oil foul one or more sparkplugs.

I'll try to answer everyone here lol (nice to see people are still active on this forum)

goldstar: Can't remember how the plugs looked, but I know the plug tubes were nice and clean.

FE3-323: Hey thanks for pointing out that thread, I just may grab a grill there!

and irishkev90: Yeah I plan on having this car many more years, that's why I'm currently spending so much time and money to repair the rust on the car now, before it gets too bad.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone

Yeah, repair it now while the spots are small. I had to replace my passenger side quarter and rocker panels. The driver's side is getting pretty nasty now, too.

That's just my winter beater now, though. I have a nice rust free '97 with a bunch of JDM goodies on it as my summer car.
