Hello, I'm from St.Louis, I own a 1994 323. Long story short got it from a man who was given it after a woman who died had let it sit in her garage since 2002. I've had to clean a TON of muck out, and I just want some general advice on this vehicle. I've never done an engine swap, but I want to do my first one on this vehicle, and just need some pointers, on what mods I can do that are the simplest, to hardest to improve performance. I want to keep it as sleeper - like as possible, and for all knowledge of anyone who doesn't look in the engine bay, or under the car, as a crappy car. I value handling over added horsepower, if a choice has to be made, and I don't want to change the front to back ratio forward much, if at all.

stock engine. bump the ignition timing to 12° & drive it.
you can add a turbo to it if you want (i do have a manifold to suit that engine)

otherwise a BP swap is a great comprimise
