I love mazda, but they aren't the god of all car manufacturers. I think you need to step off the mazda high horse and realize that they can produce and sell a car that has some flaws in it's first production yearDan

its the first year of a brand new car....of course there will be problems. That's why you don't buy the first year...
anyway... umm, minivans aren't usually muc heavier than the sedan they're based on. It's a big hollow box... so if its got 230 hp or whatever, of course it'll be quick."Never run out of real estate, traction & ideas at the same time"

I thought they sell cars (some of which have had some quality control issues in its first year, but shouldn't be condemned forever just because of it)Last edited by ZoomZoomH; 02-02-2004, 05:32 PM.

ok, first of all, the car is made here in the states. now, no offense to anybody, but i prefer my mazda to be made in JAPAN! that could be a reason why certain things are not working properly. secondly, the V6 powerplant is a ford engine = piece of crap, at least IMO. besides the output of that motor is only 220hp and 192ft/lb with a weight of 3,241 lbs. now if you consider the power to weight ratio, and the torque, it isn't all that good for straight line driving. now, the I4 model has a MAZDA made engine that puts out 160hp and 155ft/lb with a weight of 3,045 lbs, making it 200 lbs lighter and having only 37 ft/lb less torque than the V6. also, there were people in the 6, which means more weight.'96 LX baby
Next car: Miata. And after that...Rotary...

I wouldn't bash the V6 that much, as only the block is sourced from Ford, rest of the engine is all-Mazda design.
Heck, even the Duratec block itself was outsourced to Cosworth by Ford for the design!
oh, and if you search deep enough, you'll find out that even the 4cyl's block came from Ford as well (a 'Duratec' as well, mind you)
