yeah that's what I said, and that was at a cheap parts store, the new distributor for $350 doesn't come with one either.

I have a blaster 3 coil with braket and coil wire that I bought from a guy that had it installed in his probe for 40 shipped I need the money for some axles so let me know. I have a good mx3 disty that I can run till I save up for the hei mod later on plus it will take me a little time to do my swap anyways.

I have a 96 millenia disty if that will work for you. 35 shipped for that.

dude, go to the auto wreckers and pull a coil from a german car, volvo..audi...they're all over engineered and will never fail lol, they even come with their own mounting brackets!

hell, my HEI conversion was all auto wreckers stuff assides the wiring and the power tower which cost like $20. I think i spent $35? maybe 40.

ok then, I will be heading up to buffalo Sunday possibly.

Stupid me was testing the wires for resistance, not the pins on the coil and the disty... turns out my coil is good, but my ignitor has no reading, which should indicate failure? I also didn't get a reading from my cam angle sensor, but I did not have the key on and I have no way of testing it while cranking.

Have you checked you have battery voltage on B+ terminal ? To check CKP sensor remove disty from engine, leave the 3 pin connector disconnected, backprobe the CKP1 terminal with a voltmeter and you should get a pulse per cylinder per full rotation ie. 6 pulses per revolution.

Engine mounted CKP should read around 550 ohms.

The CMP sensor should give you one pulse per revolution with voltmeter set on 0-5 V AC.

If you leave the 3 pin plug connected.........you'll be able to hear the injectors clicking as you rotate disty by hand and you should also get spark if everything is ok. Just be careful if you are doing this !!

If you get the 6 pulses/rev from the disty and no spark chances are that the amplifier is stuffed.

I'm going with the HEI mod and blaster coil after all. I ordered the MSD wire and power tower today.

Also finished drilling my rear lower trans mount brackets out of 1/4" plate:

Finalized the upper radiator hose (minus some hold down brackets and some high temp paint for the galvanized pipe):

Just need one more flex hose and the lower radiator pipe will be complete:

I also shortened my shifter stabilizer bar 1/2" and bolted it up. I rotated and shortened my shifter linkage, just have to pull it out so I can do a full circle weld around it for added strength.

I plan on running the hydro clutch system tomorrow (clutch master install, clutch pedal modification to accept piston bracket) and I'm going to pick up some aircraft stripper for the rims. I picked up a polishing kit for the dremel so I can get the lips polished after the rest of the rims are done.

I am thinking Black centers with a polished lip or Gunmetal centers with a polished lip, what do you guys think? The car will eventually be a dark silver metalic like on the mazda 3.

                        hoookay so...

mounted my clutch master cylinder, just have to drill a hole in the pedal for the pivot pin, and run two new metal lines.

I wired in the HEI and the external coil (MSD Blaster 3 had to be used to match the wire Summit sent me), turned the key and no fire. so I pulled the coil wire off the cap and checked for spark. I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A BRIGHT BLUE SPARK IN MY LIFE!

Then I pulled a plug wire, no fire... so I'm thinking I didn't drill out the cap properly when I installed my power tower... FTL. So now I need a new cap, but the question is do I get another stocker for $40 from autozone that I have to drill out again and add my power tower to, or do I buy one from PRD with the external tower installed already for $50 plus shipping. The parts store will have to order it anyway and there is a risk I will drill that one wrong too.

I am thinking the PRD one, it will give me time to get everything else buttoned up. I know I'm getting spark out of the coil so once the cap is solved it will fire correct? I know its getting fuel and the lines are connected properly.

it sounds like once you get the cap figured out it should run, since you have fuel and spark right

looks like I'm ordering this in the morning. My paycheck hasn't cleared yet so I have to wait. I like that my bank has no fees but I hate that they are retardedly slow unless you have direct deposit. I can get direct deposit in a couple weeks when I am done with this whole 90 day temp agency nonsense.

On a good note, I'll be working Saturday and that will make up for the day of work I missed with the whole truck roll over accident.

Well I got the coil and the HEI module mounted and the wiring all taped up really nice. Just waiting on the PRD cap, hopefully it will be here Monday.

I'll get pics up later on, I have to pull out my clutch and brake pedal assembly now so I can either drill out a hole for the clutch master cylinder rod yoke to attach to, or maybe install the 626 pedal. After that there really isn't much left to do other than have my axles welded up. Just need some BG front knuckles and hubs. Anything with the right spline count will do for now...
