I'm glad it made it there safe and sound!! what did was i took a grinder to the hump that the slave cylinder would push but on the opposite side of the slave cyl. until a hole forms and keep grinding til the hole is the right size, thats what i did since i couldn't get a drill bit to work either

Here's a pic (its an escort GT tranny but still the same concept)

    1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
    1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

well i took a different approach but it works pretty well. instead of cutting a hole i welded a nut to it and stuck the thread side through the bracket. works the same way pretty much.

shes driving. but i have a really bad vibration coming from the wheels. at first we thought it was the axle but its actually on the driver side which is the uncut side. so im pretty sure its a destroyed wheel bearing. could an axle being squished cause that though also? remember the driver side is a stock mx3 gs axle uncut.

but on the positive side, first gear is useless.

Did you actually check the plunge in that driveshaft ?? ie take the suspension spring out, re-assemble and then jack the suspension up. You should have some freeplay along the length of the shaft. If you haven't and its bound up tight that will cause your vibration and bugger the wheel bearing not to mention the diff. Seem to remember your CV boots looked really squished.

1st is good for about 20 feet lol

yeah you are probably right about the axle. i can pretty much tell you right now there is no moving that shaft back and forth. the one that i got cut actually seems to be holding up well so far.

i think ill get an inch taken out of it or just save for some custom shafts.

thats what i thought, but ryan told me one was shorter. but if the part number is the same then it should be the length right..?

EDIT: looked up the numbers on autozone's website. according to them the mx3 gs left side w/o abs is 7625 while the 98 kia BP left side w/o abs is 7875.

Parts store told me its the same p/n so they're the same. I've been researching trying to find a half inch shorter axlers so I don't have to change any suspension and so far no luck

i think im going to try to get a sephia axle sent to the store near me and just go measure to see for myself.
