The others either work just as well but with a side benefit of costing way more, or they cost way more but at least make for high boost high RPM misfire, or better yet they come apart and put some nice graffiti on your cylinder walls. You put iridiums in cars that require hours to get to the plug wells, so you put something in there that lasts years, but we don't have that issue. One of the things we did with the rallycar at the dyno shop was a plug change and the iridiums, the only alternative plugs I've found that did not induce a misfire, changed the dyno curve by absolutely bupkus.
Iridiums will help, I think, maybe, if your coil sucks. That tiny electrode makes for an easier jump-off point for tired electrons. But rather than bandaid the problem with fancy plugs, you'll actually gain some performance by replacing your coil. It's the coil that makes the damn spark in the first place, not the plug.
What he said. One of the classes I took did dyno comparisons between all the different types of plugs and normal copper plugs did best. Also I tried iridium plugs in my dads quest before and it melted one.

I have read on Subaru forums and in fact I can testify for them, iridium are more durable than normal spark plugs.

The NGK7 iridium I got, running on 220 piston compression 10@1 Miata 2001 pistons, T3/T4 .50 trim .63 turbine, 12 psi, 550cc. The engine runs strong, the Iridium have held under full boost on back to back passes with 12AFR readings all the way to redline.

But I do not want to hijack your thread, you did bring the subject about the plugs, this is my personal experience, got each for 7.50 on amazon.

On another note, great work, the welding is not the best, although it gets the job done. It is coming along pretty well.

Forgot to update, the car got impounded a long time ago and I left it there, the hassle to retrieve it was too great for the small returns it would net. You can close this thread.

that sucks, i just went back and looked at all the work you had done trying to save this car. Why did it get impounded in the first place?

Used the GTR's plate to transport the car and got caught (it is an eyesore). Wish I still had that EBC and BOV, though they let me swap ECUs and collect my tools.
