if its just the thermo housing in the way, why dont you cut it, remove an inch or so & reweld it back together so it all fits?

      Comment

The levers where the throttle cable hooks to will hit the valve cover other wise I would modify the housing

Would Thermal spacers help with the clearance issues?

          Comment

With the minimal hood clearance, any spacer to raise the intake for the TB to clear, then the intake won't clear the hood, so as the intake sits right now I can't make it work, I'm going to wait til I have the intercooler then ill make a fresh intake, considering I only spent $45 on the aluminum and I won't be scrapping all of it, it's not a big loss to me, just a learning experience

              [QUOT

I figured while i'm this deep in the transmission i picked up a used Phantom Grip LSD with upgraded springs that i will be installing in the differential tomorrow

The only other concern i had (which i already checked out) is the distance between the diff. bearing as to if they are the same or not and as far as i can tell they are, so once i get my hybrid differential re-assembled and re-installed into my tranny i will be pulling the engine/trans from my festiva to start test fitting everything and to see how well it will work

I beleive if someone were to do some research and found two trannies that had matching final drives, it would save swapping the ring gears like i'm doing and make it a lot easier, but i like the idea of having a 4.38 final drive :D[/QUOTE]

where could i find one of those phantom grip things (lsd) i would love to have one of those

This wek i spent some time finally finishing putting my festiva back together, its been sitting all winter with no headers, intake etc. so i got to hear it run for the first time in like 6 months, it fired up first try once fuel pressure built up so i was happy to hear it run

And yesterday i went to the junkyard and got me a set of 929 injectors (330cc's) and the injector retainers needed to use my 850's (or the 330's) in the stock KL fuel rail, while i was there i also grabbed the connectors needed to wire them up

Not a big update, but a small one, i test fitted the 929 retainers on the KL fuel rail and well

they fit perfectly so my injector setup will work nicely, so today i took the wire wheel to the retainers

Next i'll be taking the wire wheel to the fuel rail to hopefully get them as shiny then i'll be installing the injectors and the fuel rails are ready to go

I also put my intake on the milling machine at work and started cutting it all apart to be able to re-use as much of the aluminum as possible for the second attempt at a custom intake

regarding the thermo housing.... what about a remote can mounted on the firewall/inner fender? put a short thermo housing on, run the pipe into the can with the pressure cap, then out of the can back to the regularly scheduled programming?

                            aka swirl pot...

^^I thought about it, but it would be much easier to re-make the intake to where the TB clears

Last night i took my festiva for its first drive since the fall time and man it felt good to drive it again, so tonight i double checked the fluids again and took it for a little longer drive and when i got back, i took a short walk-around video unfortunatly it was getting dark out when i took the vid though
