So I've probably put about 100-150kms on it now trouble free!! w00t w00t!! Fluid levels have remained the same, same colors etc there are no longer any signs of immediate trouble
I do still feel like the turbo is fubar'd but it's working and will get me by for now until I'm ready to upgrade
Now that the engine work is finally done, it's onto other things, like the rear drivers window doesn't work, so I'll need to diagnose/repair it, patch the rad support and get the sway bar re-installed, change the dash (current one was modified for a double-din cd player), then get a stereo installed, probably tint the windows nice and dark, things like that

Lol the hx35 catches my interest for sure but this other turbo I'm getting was in trade so it hasn't cost me any out of pocket money.... Maybe once I got you paid up we'll talk more about the hx35

Well I've been daily driving it problem free so far so last night I decided to do something about the lack of power, so I got looking at the timing belt and moved the cams back a tooth, that was definitely the problem! It feels waaaayyyyy better now, a lot smoother idle and power band
Tonight I'm gunna try to get the dash changed in it and maybe a cd player so I can finally have some music in it
Then next chance I get I'm gunna make a junkyard run to try and get a new glove box for it and hopefully get the interior looking in tip-top shape again

Good stuff; I didn't think that turbo was screwed. Are you using that little homemade boost controller I included? If so, be careful, while I guarantee it works well, there is a small amount of usable adjustment. it's a ball and spring inside. Screw it in for more boost.sigpic

The boost controller is still in place but I've left it un-touched for now, I'm only runnin 10psi until I'm totally confident it's up to 100%
Right now when it's under load/full boost, it leaks oil out the valve cover, so once that's fixed I'll start playing with the boost settings lol

well i'm not sure what's ****ed on this thing now but it smokes incredibly bad, i'm thinking the turbo is shot but gotta check it out first, so today i insured my festiva to have some decent time to fix it once and for all
I feel as though i have put waayyy too much effort into this B6T and it's still giving me trouble after trouble, so i'm not 100% sure what i'm going to do but it's probably gunna get pulled and something else will go in, just not sure what yet
I have a BP coming to me (in trade for some work i did) which may need minor internal work (the head has been off it for 5+ years so the cyl. may have surface rust) so it may go N/A BP until i gather the parts to turbo the BP, or i may swap in the KL on my engine stand.... i've already swapped in a 26 spline diff to a KL trans in prep for the swap, i'm just waiting for the BP to arrive to check it's condition before i decide anything
