found out some of the snags with the FWD rotary setup man, idk it you knew this or not.
Nope rotary never came out in a FWD derivative
biggest 2 problems.
1: the starter. most FWD engines\gearboxes, have there's from the engine side, pointing towards the gearbox... a rotary engine is to round and fat in the area where the starter would want to be.... Solution to this, If you can get your hands on a top-mount RX2 Starter-motor, your pretty much set....
2: The long side drive-shaft would want to be exactly where the rotary engine's exhaust comes out.... this is however not too much of a problem... one can tilt the motor slightly, such that the shaft will easily pass over a custom made exaust manifold.

Problem 1 - I plan using a KL tranny.... KL's have been mated to RX7 tranny's, (google KL miata) so the flywheel/starter situation works with that combo, so I figure the KL starter location "should" work nicely the other way around
Problem 2 - just clock the engine for the manifold to clear the axle on the adapter plate, or make a custom manifold, both are simple solutions
So yes I've thought about that as well lol
