I'm still thinking about this swap. In the original post, I have the link on the feature of a GTX in NZ. In the article it says that he used a mechanical Evo rear diff because the electronic one was useless for this application...anyone shed some light to why that is? If I do this swap it will be out of a 03-07 Evo, and I would like to just plug everything from the Evo into the GTX.

I want to see more about just the GT4 trans swap into the GTX.

If I could find one with Rally gearset, I'd be in.

I had decided previously that I would go the evo route, but if someone makes it easy for me I'd go the GT4 route. If they really are 'unbreakable' like everyone says, than who cares if they're more rare than an evo gearbox.

Jay I'm reading snippets of Tim Taylor, JVL, JAy this and that about a GT4 trans.

My RC 185 gearbox is getting rebuilt now, we have to source a few more parts. Once I have everything in hand I'll start a build thread.
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

Can you find find out some info for me? Cost mainly and ratios if it comes easily.
                  Is it a 185 or a 205 gearbox?

And who makes the adapter kits and what all is involved?
