just as the heading says, anyone thought about using a honda ecu to run their BF?
late 90s civic (96-00) come with wire harnesses that go from the engine all the way to the ecu as one harness. its not all that big of a harness either, and can be converted to obd1 (chipped honda ecus can be obd1 or obd0) with simple harnesses or swapping of main ecu plugs (from any of the 88-95 civics or integras).
pros:
cons:
can anyone think of any reason i couldnt use a chipped honda ecu to run my BF w/ b6t? i really am interested in this. i already have a 96-00 harness and chipped ecu, from a different build two years ago.
please dont poke fun at this or tell me to run just run MS, those would be useless posts. this is an honest question and should be addressed as such.

pros:
- cost
- management programs
- already set for MAP
- less actual sensors to plug in = most tuning software can eliminate unused sensors
- readily available supply of parts
cons:
- will have to do some wire conversions for plugs
- some sensors might need to be added, doubtful
- distributor, honda ecu doesnt use vac/boost advance/retard
