    Manual Boost Controller questions

I did search for the answer first and found one of them.

I bought a MBC off evilbay to put on my GTX. My GTX has 2.5 exhaust, VJ11, and an RX-7 IC. Can the MBC turn the boost down? It is over boosting at the moment and I have to wait to chip the computer to run higher boost. The MBC does not seem to be turning the boost down and the more I think about it, I cannot figure out how the MBC would reduce the boost from stock. I am thinking that the wastegate needs to be resprung to achieve what I want, is this correct? I had the MBC connected to the wastegate and to the intake at the port on the cast aluminum pipe that feeds the TB. I did find via search, that I should use the port on the compressor housing and will try that tomorrow. My GTX does not have the stock air valve set up anymore, but does have a DSM BOV pipe on it, and it is working properly.

    Thanks!

Yes..correct, the wastegate will set the min. boost pressure.

wastegate is around 8lbs from the factory. for many people who add better flowing intakes, exhaust, and intercoolers will end up overboosting the stock system.

unfortunatly, the stock wasetegate is a sealed unit and cant be resprung. Most IHI turbos for this generation will also use 7-9lb springs. if you are still overboosting before you chip the car i would do something to reduce boost pressure so you dont lean out the engine. try putting your stock IC back in or throw a smaller diameter section of pipe back in the exhaust
"See that car, in the 80's that car was deadly." Random man to his son while passing the GTX in a parking lot

If you want to invest the time, porting the stock wastegate will also help reduce boost creep or overboost
