    vf10/Vj11 hybrid problem no boost

    hi
i just rebuild my engine with new pistons new ring, head gasket and hybrid a vf10 turbo
i use the VJ11 housing and put the VF10 inside.
I have use the VJ14 wastegate with a new hole on the bracket.
I have not done any wastegate ported

i don"t get any boost until 4500 rpm and it's very slow like 2 psi boost
i thinks it's an actuator problem
    What is the problem ?
    thanks

your wastegate actuator is not working properly.
the VJ11 hotside requires some serious tweaking to the actuator rod in order for it to fit properly & hold good tension on the wastegate.

pull the assembly off & you'll find the wastegate flap is not properly seating

Hi thanks for answer i was thinking about that, i will put off manifold and turbo tomorrow
the symptom was quietly same than the old one i have when i broken arm of the wastegate on my gsi mk3 turbo

that can be cause missfire at full throttle when the turbo goes to about 2 psi ?
The pressure on gauge is very slow to up to 2 psi so i think it's a serious problem on the actuator
i have fit the VJ14 actuator but i also have the VF10 one and the VJ11 one
which one is the best for this hybrid ?
      thanks

you'll have to experiment with whatever one will properly hold the flap shut.
thats all i can tell you

now i have only 8 psi it's spool fast but i can't go more than 8 psi ...

yep the only thing it's i have a 20R housing i don't know if it's better or worse i thinks it's more laggy than normal maybe but more top end ?
But i don't know why it don't want to go more than 8 psi, i need to precontraint more the actuator ? it's look like about 3 mm already

did you water test the actuator power to hold the flap shut??? i bet it might still be leaking

i have not do the water test, but i have check with a 0.40mm and it's was good, the water test is to put water on the flap ? there are a big crack on the wastegate hole and on the turbine housing can it be that ?
if i disconnect the hose from the actuator and if i have only 8 psi too that my wastegate is not closing , right ?
