I read an article on storing an engine. It was almost 2 pages long when I put it into a Word document. They recommended far more than just oiling the cylinders.
Replacing the oil in the engine with storage oil, loosening belts, putting desiccant plugs in the spark plug holes. sealing it in plastic, etc., etc.. Personally, I wouldn't know. But if any engine needs to be stored this thoroughly I would think an engine stored for 26 years would be it! That must be a record.
