I know Corksport has the fiberglass GTR bumper, but I am not going to pay $400 + shipping. Also, they might not be making them when I get around to buying. Please help. Thanks.

I am looking for round sporty bumpers that will work with my Tracer. I want a smooth bumper to go with the rounder body lines of the Tracer. Something like the I-Mark but rounder. I missed out on the I-Mark bumpers in my area and now I am back to square one. The bumpers are the deciding factor whether I build this car or build my 95 Escort GT. Maybe if I could find some side skirts that worked too. Everything else with the car I can deal with.

Just a point of interest I installed BF GTX front seats into my '93 Protege LX, used the Protege seat rails/sliders/whatevers and did have to drill one hole to make it work, but it was super simple.

I also installed mid eighteies Toyota MR2 seats into my GT but it was a major pain abd took forever. Had to use an air chisel to break the old spot welds so I could remove the factory toyota slider brackets, then grind the frame smooth, then drilled some holes and bolted some heavy duty steel plates onto the frame, drilled some holes in those and attached the 323 brackets. Took alot of measuring but only had to drill holes once.

I'm ready to do body and paint the daily 323 beater!

Please let me know of anywhere I can get these Items and if I can get by with only just the foam blocks and my old 323SE outer bumper. I did put the fiber Gt bumper on the SE rear, does anyone know if this is a workable matchup, Gt bumper to the SE/GTX body rear? I did make the front swap without a hitch.

                  ok... Front bumpers:

1: all BF (86-89) sedan, hatch, or wagon totally interchange. So Tracer, 323 (all trims base, SE, GT, GTX) all swap total bolt on.

2: BG (90-94) front bumpers fit with mods. They are about 1/4-3/8" too wide so there is a slight gap at the front corner of the fenders under the turn/marker lights. You have to fab brackets and make it work or delete the bumper beam.

3: JDM/EDM/AUS: Again all Bf are direct swap for the FRONT. BG I have on both my tracer and the GT. Fir is stated in #2

4: Isuzu I-mark is a VERY nice fit. Several threads in this forum on it. This is the most popular USDM swap because the JDM GT/GTX are tough to find and pricey to ship

5: *insert brand/model* swaps are easy to figure out. Tape measure, a buddy, hit the junk yard. Look at the (4) key measurements: Width, height/thickness, Depth to the wheel arch, and the general shape of the wheel arch. Tell everyone if you find an interesting new twist.

                  REAR Bumpers:

1: First and foremost: Hatch will NOT swap with any other body style. Actually ALL body styles are unique to themselves. So Hatch only, Sedan only, Wagon only.

2: JDM/EDM/AUS rear SEDAN and Wagon bumpers look best. they are slimmer, don' have the gigantic proportions that the USDM safety bumpers required.

3: Other brand swaps are rarely talked about since its the front end everyone wants to look cool or is trying to fit a FMIC.

                  SEATS:

1: as discussed, its not rocket science. Take donor seat of your choice, lay it seat tracks up next to your stock seat. Break out the tape measure and use your googly peepers, eyeball it and break out either the welder or some 3/8" x 1"-2" flat stock from Lowes, drill some holes, adjust the tracks where you need them. This is Hot rodding 101.

2: I've have JDM Nissan Pulsar NX seats in the Tracer. I have RX7, XR4Ti or Prelude seats waiting for the GT. I've swapped Prelude seats into several 323's. because I like the look and feel and they are cheap and plentiful here in TX. Plus my upholstery guy gives me an awesome deal on custom covers. Same thing as with bumpers... Tape measure, junk yard.. start pulling seats and measure the width.spacing of various seats.

the great thing about cars this old is that they tend to end up in the "mid-low" end junk yards which let you walk the yard, often "Pick-n-Pull" type yards so you can take a saturday or your day off and explore. Its my form of "retail therapy" after a rough week, LOL.

Go to a junk yard and just walk around, look, don't concentrate on a goal, just let you eyes do the work. You will see something you like.. go measure it

88-89 Escort GT front bumper works very well on the BF 323 also.

I have a BF DE hatch, the steel bumper was bad rusted, replaced it with a GT Sub bumper but the original outer would to fit it. Now I have the GT fiberglass and needing a GTX rear cover to look right!
