Well I worked at Jiffy Lube as a manager for a few months and they had the Gumout brand thing. Its the same as seafoam but it does not put out a lot of smoke like the seafoam. They told me that it can not go on a turbo car and the package said not for turbos.

808 I am really baffled by my 4 door. Its acting weird. When I drive it with the a/c on the temp goes up, but only when I am moving not when I am stopped at a light. I get on the highway and the temp goes up. I have a digital cluster so the temp will go up until it gets under the H. I turn the a/c off and immediately the temp goes down to the middle like normal. On a hot florida day I can drive 100 miles in traffic with the a/c off and the car will not heat up at all. I need the a/c here since it is so hot and I spend $300 just to get the lines and compressor so I can have it back in the car. I dont know what to do. Thats why I was thinking that the alt is taking a dump on me.

The alt taking a dump on you isn't gonna cause your engine temp to go up... usually what happens is you just start dropping voltage or the belt starts to slip because it's seizing... it really doesn't make any sense that your engine temps would go up when driving and not when idling at a light... the opposite should be true because doing 60+mph down the highway is gonna push way more air through the radiator than a little stock puller fan is at a stoplight... there's something else going on there. do you have a turbo or non-turbo car?

Its a turbo car. I stay out of boost when I am cruising down the highway. I had some suspicions of what is happening. The alt belt was squeaking and needed to be adjusted so I did that today and the compressor needed more oil. I did all that and drove it around here for 20 mins in stop and go driving and the temp went 1 up above middle and stayed there. I turned the car off and let the timer run and heard a noise comming from the compressor but the a/c was off. I think that maybe the a/c bearings are taking a dump in the compressor. I am baffled by this and can't figure it out.

Well, even if your engine is having to work harder when the A/C is on, it shouldnt bother the Engine temp too much. Are both your Radiator and A/C fans hooked up correctly? You dont have one blowing the opposite direction of air do you?

They are both blowing in the correct direction. I dont know what to do with this car. It is really pissing me off. I was thinking that maybe the a/c fan was pushing too much hot air but it was not the problem. I am ready to give up with this car

Could be thermostat, and could be headgasket. Loosing any coolant? First thing I would replace is thermostat.

Make sure there are no air pockets in your coolant system. That will cuase over heating. Bleed the system after the thermostat.

Thermostat was replaced about a month ago. No air pockets in the cooling system. I went to my friend's shop and he and my other friend both told me that it is most likely the cooling fan. So I am going to try replacing the fan on the radiator. I trust my friend because he knows the bpt motor like the back of his hand. He has an escort full race car that is still a bpt but its converted to rear wheel drive and runs in the 9s. If you want to see the car just google stp motorsports. Its a yellow escort

I wish I had a BPT engine, i'm contemplating getting one rather than rebuilding the b6t I already have

20 year old IHI journal bearings can probably take some isopropyl alcohol and some light distillates, which is all Seafoam is. A tight-tolerance ball bearing turbo might not like it as much, but I've never had a problem ever.
