Hah... owning 3 GTX's didn't help me.. now i just drive the SE-R everywhere.
1988 White GTX - #1 parts
1988 Black GTX - #2 reliably broken touge monstar (294,000 miles no rebuilds) - dead 1988 Blue GTX - #3 in progress (view here)
1988 Blue GTX - #4 BPT swapped weekend warrior.
1988 White GTX - #5 Rally car
You should just get a proper high flow cat eventually... minimal power loss and it'll make it quieter again.

i theory the idea of a project is that its not your main car right. just do like me and buy a bunch of 323's one of them's bound to work.
cheers
That is the theory that my friend has. He did own 6. All 4 door gt's including mine. As of now he has 2 dailys and 1 race car. All 4 door gt's with power windows and glass top roofs. And one that is modded out to be similar to the jdm version that bastard
This is exactly why when I take on a project car, I have the whole running gear checked out or rebuilt before depending on it. Im having my GT's Engine, Transmission and Turbo all rebuilt just to make sure it runs like new when I get it back together. Its a slow process, but it will get done. Which car are you driving again? GTX/GT?
I own a gt. She is finally broken in. 1000 miles has finally come and its running pretty good. I do have a question though. Will the non turbo pistons from the capri fit on the turbo rods. My friend wants to build a motor with those pistons just to see how it does
B6T rods should fit the B6 DOHC Pistons. I havnt seen anything that says they cant, but I havnt tried it first hand. I wouldnt rely on boosting it too much with those pistons, unless the engine is built up, even then, non forged pistons shouldnt go into a built motor either. All they will do is raise the compression ratio.
car is fully tuned now and the bumper is all mounted. i had to take it back off today to paint and while it was off i built a bracket to hold the 2 hella fog lights and ran a relay+ all the wiring
"See that car, in the 80's that car was deadly." Random man to his son while passing the GTX in a parking lot
