Got the car off jack stands, first time in 6 months. Just need to track down a left side axle, hook up the electrical, drain the gas tank, install master cylinder, new front brakes, coolant system install, fluids, fab a new exhaust.....damn, a long way off still. Can't wait to see if it'll run and how it will with the 9:1 auto miata long nose longblock.

Here's a pic of the capri subframe I installed. Notice the cross linkage connections at both LCA's and the front bars going to the radiator support. Also deleted the rubber washers where the subframe connects and put new 8.8 grade bolts in.

I still need a tranny. Anyone know someone with a tranny? Has anyone had one rebuilt? How much do they usually run?

three days the hood off and my spud bar poped it out and I killed the tranny seal in the axle hole. lmao That wuz grueling!

That photo of me with the axle is this time last year with 60 lbs i now don't have in the photo this weekend 4-25-09 trimming the s10 valence for the BF, notice the Beevis and Butthead tee shirt.

Love the work. I'm going to have to try to do that. What did you use for the bars? Did you flatten the ends yourself? Notice a difference in stiffness?

Took my car in for disgnosis.... have a shimmy I just can't shake.... ha-ha...

found out I need inner and outer bearings all the way around.

since my 323 gt started smoking i started gathering parts to do a bp+t swap thinking the rings were toast..

haha so today i decided for the hell of it i would take the intake pipe off and test the turbo for shaft play thinking maybe thats why the car is smoking. (in the past every b6t i have had it was the rings going bad and the turbos were always in great shape so i figured the turbo once again would be fine meaning the engine was prob toast)..

BUT!! the turbo has so much shaft play i dont even know how it makes 10 psi haha it has so much in and out like seriously 3/4" of in and out play.. i think i found the smoking problem . after i saw the turbo was bad i did a compression test to make sure i was correct in my theory that its just the turbo causing the smoke.. compression was 130 accross on a cold engine which tells me the engine should be good to go !

Wednesday im going to the local junkyard for half price day and getting a full vj-11 and throwing it on. we'll see how it runs! 18 psi with my new conquest intercooler and el prototype ecu should pull pretty hard!

18lb's is probably the top of the efficiency range for the VJ11. Back in my MX6 days that was the accepted norm at mx6.com.

As for the capri member that's all factory. Only issue getting it was the LCA bolt nut spinning on the car at the junk yard, the Makita I took helped me with that. Two front bars run to the lower bolts on the front tow hooks.

I remember my first car (89 323 SE) taking out the wheel bearings to the point of obscene noise. Here's the only pic I have of the car, doctored up to see it better, as the photo has faded. Picture was taken in '95.

What did the vf come off of? Also lookslike the VF Compressor housing has very little ridge to grip onto any connectors for piping. o.0

Didn't get to drive my car today. It's still in the shop getting all of the inner and outer bearings replaced, re-adjust coil-overs, rear brake check (squeaky noise), re-alignment, front shifter bushings (the two rubber ones and plastic one).

Should get the car back tomorrow. Can't wait.
