I did a front mount intercooler setup on friend 323 GT.

    Parts used for this setup.

    EMUSA 27" x 7" x 2.5" Delta Fin front mount intercooler
    4 2.5" intecooler pipes ( 3 L bends & 1 75 degree bend)
2.5" Greddy Type S adapter pipe
    3 Silicone 90 degree elbows
    1 Silicone *45 degree elbow
    2 Silicone 2.5" straight hose
    1 Silicone 2.5" - 2" reducer
    14 Clamps (6 T bolts & 8 regular clamps)

Modification done to make this work.
Shifting of radiator for short route from turbo to intake manifold.
    Trimming of GT front bumper.
Modifying existing opening in bulk head for intercooler pipes to fit.

    Front mod pix.

All the parts that have been acquired before installation day

Owner 1st attempt of getting a front mount intercooler setup.

Then came me with my second attempt @ do a front mount intercooler setup. My car being the first a year ago.

Relocation of license plate for trimming of the middle of the bumper.

Fitting up I/C & piping after trimming of bulk head & relocating radiator.

    Fitting up.

    Completed

This is my second time doing a front mount i/c & i am pleased with the outcome, the owner is way happier after driving home after the mod. There are some minor detailing required regarding the bumper and those trimming the opening for it to look neater & installing a mess screen to keep debris from accumulating on the intercooler.

Nice work, the intercooler looks good behind the bumper there. I've been considering a front mount for my GT, but I'll probably wait until spring, as it's serving winter duty right now.

Well got the bp4w head today, complete except the valve cover and the gears(no big deal). Its in good shape, will get a simple valve job this winter, who knows what else. Cost me $145 for the head from some wreaker in Quebec, shipping was almost the cost of the head!!Oh well still a deal I think.Tried to upload some pics, but I need my wife or kids around for that. I`m a old dog I guess.

Picked up a spare transmission today. Walked a Porsche on the way home ...too bad it was one of those SUV things.

Love the way you routed the piping for the FMIC. Now I'm thinking about changing my set-up. Put studded snow tires to go over the mountains. Took them off when I got back. I hate running studs unless I feel that it's safer for where I'm heading. I sprung a small leak in my lower radiator hose. Going to work on replacing it but hoping that it can wait until I get a bigger radiator at the same time. Water temp is staying low, but that's because it was in the high 30's going up the pass. I'm chicken to see what the temp might be in the middle of the summer.

I too like the short distance you chose for the routing of the intercooler plumbing, BUT the one thing I hate most is the 90* silicon couplers, or any angled couplers really. I hacked up my core support (in a clean, structurally good way) to get around that even though I still have 1, but its almost a no brainer I would of needed it anyway. Hope it works great for you though! Made a major improvement over stock for me.

Blew the seals out of my turbo today. That's 4 dead turbos this year, I may have to get a properly rebuilt turbo this time rather than an unknown condition used POS.

My third born child and 2 hours in the dirt under a Miata. Been lookin for years...every time I see a Miata of correct vintage they have no diffs or they are open. This one looks to be in working order.

So today I decided to use one of the VJ11s I bought for my BMW and put it on the GT. After searching online for a while for a how to on hybriding (is that a word?) the VJ11 and VJ14 to no avail, I decided to just try it, to my luck the CHRA is identical, and the VJ14 hotside housing bolts right on to the rest of a VJ11. Just need a small modification to the wastegate actuator. Good news indeed, as I want to start spending my money on the GTX, not the GT.
