yea i seen that about the 1@4 cylinder thing but the whole time i ran it this way i had no problems at all the car was super smooth, i dont know beats me lol but it worked lol i got some pics but there not really good but u can tell what i have done, i just got the tranny put back together about 6 hrs ago i will be doing the actual swap in about a week when the weather warms a bit here,but for now i am getting me a 99 civic boosted b16 lol i never owned one so i am gonna tinker around with it but my 323 project i my favorite thing right now, man i love mazdas!!!!

Yeah mine felt nice and smooth too though, when I popped the head off pistons 2&3 were pitted horribly from detonation. I'm willing to bet yours look the same.
You can also look at the intake manifold - runners 1&4 will be nice and clean, 2&3 will still be black and greasy1991 Capri XR2 "GTXR2" BPT AWD Bastardization/conversion
