    Odd? Newbie Question

So i purchased a 1988 323GT 1.6t 5sp , and im at the shop checking it over, brakes, fluids, and i drain the trans and find ATF? , so then i checked the fluids guide at my shop and it says ATF? , but http://www.wihandyman.com/forum/show...ine-trans-info says 80-90? , the speedo gear is clearly stained red from atf thus i replaced it with atf and now im concerned any input would be nice, car is not being driven say a couple runs down the street

The original shop manual listed ATF and was later amended is my understanding. Don't run ATF... lots of people have with reasonable luck... but I can't recommend it.

In the GTX case I run that with some shock proof.. but the 4wd trans is weak.
