what about just using my b6t head as well?

The block dimensions are totally different between the BP and the B6... The B6 head will not fit.

dang. what are my options? just get a miata motor? i would have to buy the manifolds and possibly a turbo to be able to use this bp motor. is there a donor car?

There was never a stock turbo BP car in the US. You're gonna have to find them.. Some people here may have some. I think CS has some.

Do you have the BP motor in your possession? Just install that, which will be light years above the lowly, whimpy, anemic B6. You'll be doing about 75% of the hard work by just doing that. Later, if you decide to go turbo, you can get the exh manifold (custom, or find a stock one), then the ECU (or megasquirt, or standalone, or whatever) and boost it until it explodes in front of your friends.

i think i am going to sell the bp motor and part out the escort and get a b6 out of a miata or something. im thinkin that will be the easiest and cheapest way to get my little danger cart running properly. what are all the vehicles i can get a motor out of n/a or not, it needs to be able to mate with my head or my manis need to mate with its head.

Miata, 90-94 capri (the xr2 is turbo) will be your best bets. MX-3's got them on occasion as well.

I'm in the process of buying a GTX as well and it comes with a complete spare B6T which is currently disassembled. It will be a couple of weeks before the deal is doen but I can sell you everything you need if you're interested. Shipping might be a bit rough but I'll give you the best deal I can.

Well no rush. Once I have the car in my posession I'm not planning on doing anything with the spares until next spring. If I still have everythign at that point I might build it but if I can unload the parts now I would take the cash to subsidize the purchase of the car.

if i were to buy beefier internals that would support closer to 400 whp where would you guys recommend i get them from. say if my block isnt bad, if that is then i will just swap another b6 in there with my turbo.

You'll basically be looking for forged miata internals.. Flyin' Miata or Corksport would work.

got a '91 mercury capri xr2 pulled the motor and heard the ecu's are different and the way the engine sits in the merc is different than the gtx. is that true? what do i need to know before i throw this other b6t in my gtx and get rid of the capri.
